Description

The Mathematics of the Cosmic Mind: A Study in Mathematical Symbolism

This work is an unusual approach to a profound study of the universe and man. Taking as a basis the vast system of Theosophy as outlined in H. P. Blavatsky’s monumental work The Secret Doctrine, and applying the complexities of mathematical symbolism, the author leads the student toward his own discovery of some of the deeper realities of existence and of consciousness.

The book represents the culmination of a life-long pursuit of theosophical study by the author. His mathematical approach, enhanced by original concepts embodied in diagrams and coloured plates, will appeal to those who are trained in this field. But the book is not limited to those with mathematical inclinations, for it is also philosophical in its treatment of the great themes with which it deals.

L. Gordon Plummer was born at the headquarters of the point Loma Theosophical Society, in California in 1904. He is known in America and abroad as a writer and lecturer on Theosophy and on scientific subjects. He taught for many years at the school and college sponsored by the Point Loma Theosophical Society. Mr. Plummer has always been interested in astronomy and modern science and is a member of the Education Committee of the San Diego Hall of Science.
